Credit Union Performance 1998-2009
Through direction and cooperation of the Board of Directors and the support of the employees and staff, I was able to accomplish the following for the credit union and its members.

  • Increased Assets from 35 million  to 76 million  54%
  • Increased member deposits to 85.6%
  • Increased Average Deposit balance 59%  
  • Increased loans 120.4% 
  • Increased Average Loan Balance 26% 
  • Increased capital 41.3% 
  • Increased credit union membership 44.4% 
  • The Credit Union retained its 5 Star Rating from Bauer Financial for its 18th year. Less that 10% of the 8,689 credit unions had ever achieved  this rating for this long.
  • The Credit Union received the highest Return to Member’s score (ROM) from Callahan’s Peer-To-Peer rating of 32 South Florida Credit Unions

Operational and Product Accomplishments
  • Established Policies and Procedures for the compliance of Federal regulations (as an example), BSA, CIP, Internal/External Internet Security, Red Flag, etc.
  • Expanded  1st Mortgage program 
  • Expanded both employee and board standardized Policies and Procedures
  • Expanded CD & IRA products
  • Expanded development of  website
  • Expanded HELOC Mortgage program to Visa Platinum
  • Expanded Marketing and established Business Development Department
  • Expanded membership, through the direction of the board, to fellow fire departments and general employees to better distribute the cost of doing business as well as expand the potential loan and fee base.
  • Expanded Visa usage to over 40% of membership

  • First AllPoint ATM network which gives Members access to 45,000 surcharge-free ATM's.

  • First Web based employee  salary administration
  • Negotiated the selection of Fiserv, an advanced core data processor 
  • Shifted investments from Southeast Corporate FCU to outside banks which significantly increased the yield and eliminated any loss due to Corporate Failure  
  • Successfully completed 2 conversions of primary data processing system
  • Successfully upgraded to new phone system which greatly improved service, through the call center concept, to our Members and added extended office hours and greater efficiencies to the office.
  • Switched credit card vendor from the Florida Credit Union League to Certegy Direct so that we and the members can have “real-time” access to accounts

As Board Member/ Chairman 1980 - 1997
  • Worked closely with the President/CEO and Board to maintain financial stability of the credit union through a cohesive relationship. 
  • Represented the credit union movement in Tallahassee and Washington DC
  • Sat on the Dues and Structure committee for the Florida Credit Union league.
  • Served as Chairman to the South Florida Chapter of Credit Unions
  • Assisted the Florida Credit Union League representative in teaching the VAP Board / Manager relationship course to credit unions throughout Florida
  • Assisted in the design and oversaw the construction of the credit union at its present location.
  • Went through 2 changes in CEO’s and 3 nationwide CEO searches
  • Graduated from the Florida State Credit Union Management Institute, offered by the Florida Credit Union League, as a Certified Credit Union Executive.
  • Completed The 100, 200, 300, & 400 sires of CUNA’s Volunteer education program. Received the Edward Filene, W. Raiffeisen and the Bergengren awards for completing the required educational modules.
  • Attended CUNA, NAFCU and other conferences on an array of credit union topics for or over 30 years

Guided management, as Board member and  Chairman, in the development of new products and services such as;
